But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matt. 6:33
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!! Blessings to all of you.
How is everyone doing
Doing great we hope. We are doing great too and keeping busy, but then everything takes longer it seems. The Wed. & Thurs. before Christmas, Bric came and drilled our well, about a month early- yeah! Its about 230 ft. down.
Next week they plan to come, pour a platform and put in a hand pump. The neighbors are excited. They walk about 1/4 of a mile then drop a bucket in a well about 50ft--then tug-tug that's their daily water supply. Enjoying mangos off our tree, need to find someone to help us market them. Junior will but don't understand that the ones picked need to be marketed sooooon.
Enjoyed Christmas day at Bric- lot of food and fellowship. One more time traveling home in the dark. Its a heart rendering experience -bright lights- or no lights-or vehicles that won't move over- and yes the people are black and so is the night. The neighbor girl took me to Croix-Des-Bouquets market the other day for some food items. She guarded me carefully. The market is known for thieves, so we didn't take much money. It will take a long time before I go by myself.
Pat & Cheryl came for the weekend. On Friday we took them shopping, showed them our land, and ate some tilopia for lunch. Very impressive place little joint close to Bric. They raise the fish , have huge medical supply for their hosp. up north, and have an orphanage. Took in alot of handicap children from the earthquake. Sat went to SoDo Falls, very pretty drive and a beautiful falls. Found a cute restaurant on the way home French ran???? Only occupants there but it still took an hour, which is normal Haiti.
Sunday went to Pastor Enels Holderman church (about as close to our service we've been to). Little different then the one we attended Fri. night, our ears are still ringing. Took Pats home Sunday night and helped haul their things up the hill 7/10's of a mile to their house. ate a quick bite, headed home as night was ascending. Philip is a great race car driver.:)
New Year Day is very special here, they got their Independence on the 2nd from the French. The food specialty is Pumpkin Soup, with veggies and maybe a little chicken and goat. It is very good, the pumpkin isn't strong like ours. Oh! New Years eve is very lively too. Philip went to bed with ear plugs and I finally got up at 3:30 and popped them in. The Pencostals down the hill was really feeling good !!!!!
OK Girls here's a ECO_GREEN for you - Benefits of Hand Washing Clothes
1. Use less water - -2. No electric needed--3.enjoy vitamin D as you get a golden glow--4. Upper arms get strengthen --5. No electricity for drying- wind power on rooftop drying. enjoy!!!!!
Philip has been digging the generator foundation and marking off for our house. Wickens our neighbor boy is such a little helper. He is eleven years old. His sister Darly-Love said , he loves Philip. His Daddy drives a top-top bus so he is gone alot
A suggestion: Harold Herr wrote a book Except the Unexpected. He has been in Haiti quite awhile and this is very good book. You can get it through CAM, I think. His daughter wrote Be Your Own Doctor.
Well, Friends, its time to close, I'm still learning this blog thing, so it takes me awhile!!!!!!Until then......Bethany
